Energy

Where you tend to find and spend your energy: in your inner world or in the outer one.

Measured by the Sixteen Types test. Scores run from 0 to 100.

Low scores (under 40): Inward

You recharge in quiet and think best before speaking. You prefer a few deep conversations to many quick ones. The cost is that others may not know what you are thinking.

Balanced scores (40 to 60)

You move comfortably between company and solitude. Some days you want people, others you want space, and you read the difference well.

High scores (over 60): Outward

You gain energy from people and activity and often think out loud. You make contact easily and keep things moving. The cost is that quiet time can feel like a drain and reflection may get skipped.

Sources and method

This is an original, informal quiz inspired by Jung's ideas, not a formal instrument. It measures preferences, meaning what feels natural, not ability or how you must behave. Your scores sit on a spectrum, so a result near the middle is normal. Treat the type as a conversation starter for self-reflection, not a label. The letters follow the popular usage of these terms, not exactly Jung's original meanings. These preferences also overlap with Big Five traits, so the two lenses can echo each other.

Neither end of a dimension is better. Each comes with strengths and costs. For self-reflection and entertainment only.
